if you want to accept mobile money payments from SommaRedde accredited wallets, you need any mobile device, such as a cell phone or a tablet. Receiving SANTACO Wallet payments will cost you 0.25% ex VAT, capped at R7.50 ex VAT to receive a Mobile Money payment. Other e-Wallet Operators may charge different fees. SommaRedde’s function is to bring Mobile Money payments into the mainstream economy, it will allow any user of a Mobile Money payment service to make mobile money payments for goods and services everywhere. We call this Full Interoperability, which is completely different from the typical narrow view of interoperability.
We empower any Mobile Money e-Wallet Operator that subscribes to our service. Should the system used by the e-Wallet Operator not have sufficient functionality, we also supply a Mobile Money Payment System, which is an enterprise level system that can handle millions of user transactions concurrently.

Traders working in informal sectors can download the SommaRedde Mobile POS app to a phone to make a payment to a truck driver’s cell phone or any handheld computer.
Remittances
Once the SommaRedde ACH is active and designated by the South African Reserve Bank, it will enable end-users of participating e-Wallets to make instant cross-border payments in real time at a much-reduced fee.
